Everything you didn't know about perfume
Do you ever put on a perfume and find an hour later its gone, and you have to reapply all day, well there's a super simple way to find out which perfumes last for how long!
On your bottles you usually see something like this...
On your bottles you usually see something like this...
(Its usually located on the bottom)
We usually tend to overlook that part but it's telling us how long it'll last!
Eau FraƮche - 1-2 hours - For changing out your day time scent to night time or body sprays that you spray throughout the day
Eau De Toilettes - 4 -5 hours, 20% of the scent will last all day - For day-time wear
Eau De Parfum - 30% of the scent will last all day - All day wear
Perfume - 50% of the scent will last all day - Super strong all day wear or big events/nighttime wear
Once I found out about this I started paying more attention to it and it really is true! When I wear the perfume in the picture I can smell it all day but towards the end of the day it gets less strong, but I never feel the need to reapply.
Other perfume tips...
The best way to keep your perfumes stored is in their boxes, light & heat can cause chemical changes and they won't last as long.
Avoid spraying onto fabric, most will stain especially silk.
Putting perfume directly onto your skin will give it a more lasting effect because the warmth of your skin helps interact with the oils. Put it on the pulse points (Neck, inside your elbow, wrist, inside your knee, near your ankle joint) low on the body and they will rise with your body heat.
When trying out a new scent, wear it for atleast 5 hours to know if you like it. As it develops on your skin you'll smell the top notes, middle notes are the important notes you'll smell 2 -4 hours after & then the full base note.
Lastly, when you're reading a magazine and come across a perfume ad like this,
If you smell it and like it or you're not too sure, rub your wrist across it, the perfume will transfer onto
your skin and you can wear it throughout the day and decide if you want to purchase or not!
